In 1999 Chris Ruane (aka Hans) formed an unlikely trio and started what is now known as Hat Trix, or HT. Using the phrase "hat trick" to represent it's 3 members, HT began making albums at an alarming rate. In 2004, the group intruduced their debut album, Tricks of the Trade. Soon after, HT began releasing albums from 2005 to 2010, the group released nearly ten albums and featured on several other projects including their first motion picture production. HT is known to best for it's intricate musical production, which is often produced by musical prodigy, Michael Mok (aka Mic the Producer) who has proven to play a key role in the San Francisco Bay Area's hip hop and dance music scene. To many, HT is most noteably recognized for their second project as the original trio (Hans, Mic and Erc) on 2007's Motivation. The album received hundreds of downloads within the first week of it's release, despite being sold in various Tower Records locations and every pressed copy was sold within 6 months of it's world premiere. As time has passed, dozens of other groups and musicians have used similar names, likenesses and even lyrics from HT, but do not be fooled- there is only one true Hat Trix Music.
